La Raza Harasses and Intimidates 73 Year Old Woman

In events that are largely being ignored by the national media, Kansas City representatives of the racist group the National Council of La Raza (The Race for our English speaking friends) have been threatening to boycott Kansas City and pull their national convention from the city if the current mayor, Mark Funkhouser, does not remove 73 year old Francis Semler from the Kansas City Parks Board. Why the outrage over an elderly female member of a parks board? She happens to be a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp, a neo-neighborhood watch group that seeks to end illegal immigration by watching our southern and northern borders and reporting illegal immigration to the border patrol.

Mayor Funkhouser has vowed to stand behind Ms Semler as long as her personal beliefs on immigration policy do not affect her service to the parks board.

Growing frustrated with the Mayor’s refusal to bend to their blackmail La Raza spokesperson and organizer of Sons and Daughters of Immigrants of Greater Kansas City, Jessica Ayala joined 5 other pro-illegal immigration activists and appeared on the doorstep of 73 year old Ms Semler on the morning of September 5th. Startled by the pounding on her door and seeing the large group outside, she did what any elderly woman would do, she called police.

When questioned, the group claimed they were only there to hand deliver a note demanding she resign from her position on the parks board. Police have stated they will increase patrols to the neighborhood.

Their note follows:

Dear Mrs. Semler,

We are writing on behalf of the congregations, community organizations and concerned citizens listed below to respectfully ask you to immediately resign your position as member of the Kansas City Missouri Parks and Recreation Board. As a member of the Minutemen it is clear that you do not embrace or welcome the cultural diversity of all Kansas City residents. The KC metropolitan area should be allowed the opportunity to heal from the difficulties this appointment has caused and your resignation permits this healing process to begin.

Please contact us by August 31st to let us know that you have the best interests of all metropolitan area citizens in mind and that you will immediately resign from the parks board.

Illegal Immigrants, the Face of the Subprime Mortgage Crisis

We'd like to introduce you to Alberto and Rosa Ramirez. The Spanish speaking husband and wife team work as strawberry pickers and each bring home about $300 per week. They and their three children are close friends with Jesus Martinez, his wife, and their three children. Jesus and his wife work as mushroom farmers and bring in about $500 per week when there is work.

Together the two families purchased a $720,000 home using a subprime, no doc loan. When it became quickly apparent that a strawberry framer making $15,000 a year couldn't make the monthly mortgage payment of $5,378, not to mention the additional $750 per month for insurance and taxes, the couples were left with the only option. They stopped paying and became squatters until they were finally foreclosed on.[1]

José Manuel J., an illegal immigrant from Mexico, came to the U.S. eight years ago to sweep construction sites. Using a subprime, no doc loan he purchased a home in the U.S. He also purchased land in Mexico and built another home there.[2]

Barbara Ehrenreich writes, "Somewhere in the Hamptons a high-roller is cursing his cleaning lady and shaking his fists at the lawn guys... they stopped paying their mortgages... these were trick mortgages, 'NINJA' loans, for example, awarded to people with 'no income, no job or assets.'"

She goes on to write, "In its May 21st cover story on "The Poverty Business," BusinessWeek documented the stampede, in just the last few years, to lend money to the people who could least afford to pay the interest: Buy your dream home! Refinance your house! Take on a car loan even if your credit rating sucks! Financiamos a Todos! Somehow, no one bothered to figure out where the poor were going to get the money to pay for all the money they were being offered." Financiamos a Todos, "We finance to all!"

Summing up, she writes, "Who would have thought that foreclosures in Stockton and Cleveland would roil the markets of London and Shanghai?"[3]

Below are two statistical graphics. The first depicts illegal immigrant populations by state in the U.S. The second shows foreclosure rates by state in the U.S. It doesn't take much of a trained eye to find the commonalities between the two.

Illegal immigrant populations by state:

Source: Pew Hispanic Center

Home Mortgage Foreclosures by state:
Source: RealtyTrac

"Foreclosure filings rose 9 percent from June to July and surged 93 percent over the same period last year." [4] "Consumer comfort plummeted this week amid turbulence in the stock market and a seemingly infectious crisis in the home mortgage market." [5]

Despite the rising economic crisis, the mainstream media has still not begun to investigate the apparent link between illegal immigration and the mortgage crisis. Instead they hold out hopes that the Federal Reserve will bail us out by cutting interest rates.

Subprime Mortgage Defaults Being Driven by Illegal Immigration?

Subprime mortgage loans are those granted to borrowers with less-than-perfect credit. Lenders typically charge higher interest rates to these subprime borrowers to compensate for potential losses.

Last week the first major subprime lender collapsed under the pressure from loan defaults. American Home Mortgage Investment Corp. sold nearly $60 billion dollars in loans to borrowers in 2006. They were forced to declare bankruptcy when they could no longer find Wall Street firms willing to invest in securities to back the loans they were making.

The failure of AMHMIC caused subprime concerns to spread to Alt-A mortgages, which are mortgage loans for people with good credit, but who do not want to nor have the means to verify income with tax forms and pay stubs. Alt-A loans made up 13% of all mortgage loans last year according to Inside Mortgage Finance.

When discussing the current mortgage loan crisis before Congress, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said on July 18, 2007 that "rising delinquencies and foreclosures are creating personal, economic and social distress for many homeowners and communities -- problems that likely will get worse before they get better."

"David Olson, president of Wholesale Access Mortgage Research & Consulting Inc. in Columbia, Maryland, is blunt about his current outlook. He says a third of the U.S. home-loan industry will disappear." [2]

The economic impact of this crisis is obvious. Lenders are running short on cash with which to make future loans and are being forced to borrow money from European banks. Hedge funds investing in mortgage securities are being frozen because managers can't determine their values because of lack of buyers. As of this writing the Dow Jones Industrial Average has fallen nearly 900 points from its high of 14000 based on mortgage default fears. The National Association of Realtors says U.S. housing prices will fall for the first time since the Great Depression of the 1930's.

Just who are these borrowers that are defaulting on their mortgage loans at a nearly a 50% rate? Leonardo Simpser of the Hispanic National Mortgage Association (NHMA) says that Hispanic first-time buyers constitute the fastest-growing segment of the subprime mortgage market. He also says that many Latinos, especially recent immigrants, have low FICO credit scores or no scores at all and are less creditworthy than they are in reality.

HNMA is the creator of the Hispanic Automated Underwriting System (HAUS) which claims to allow lenders to "eliminate the need for time-consuming manual underwriting of such applicants, and allows lenders to underwrite borrowers with no Social Security numbers and multiple income sources."

Congress needs to act. We need a full congressional investigation into determining just how rampant the illegal immigration problem is in regards to these mortgage defaults. Much like the savings-and-loan scandals of the 80's we need to know which banks are catering to illegal immigrants in violation of U.S. law and making these extremely high risk loans putting the economic prosperity of this country in great peril.

Call your congressmen today and demand an investigation! http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml

Press 1 for Amnesty, Presione Uno Para la Amnistía

The pro-open borders group Coalition for Comprehensive Immigration Reform is circling a hotline that allows pro-amnesty supporters to bypass the Senate switchboard and get directly to their Senators.

Why should you be concerned? Because if like the millions of other American citizens you have called the Senate switchboard to urge your Senators to vote NO on the new bill that will be voted on next week and provide amnesty to nearly 20 million illegal immigrants, you have most likely been met with a busy signal.

1-800-882-2005. (Spanish number)
1-800-417-7666. (English number)

So while, you a concerned citizen, is having his/her voice silenced, illegal immigrants and their supports have a direct line to your government representatives. Fortunately for us these numbers have been leaked to the public. We highly urge you to use them to call your senators if you are having trouble getting through. With the holiday weekend upon us and the vote coming up early next week time is running very short for you to make your voice heard.

------------------

We've heard a lot about how this new "comprehensive immigration reform" bill is not amnesty. How it requires illegal immigrants to obtain a "z" visa and pay a $5,000 fine to become citizens. But did you know this fine is already law?

Title 19, USC 1459 subsections (f) and (g) state any individual who enters this country illegally is liable for a civil penalty of $5,000 for the first violation, and $10,000 for each subsequent violation. Criminal penalty. In addition to being liable for a civil penalty under subsection (f) of this section, any individual who intentionally violates any provision of subsection (e) of this section is, upon conviction, liable for a fine of not more than $5,000, or imprisonment for not more than 1 year, or both.

But it's not just about the $5,000. Any illegal immigrant who applies for a "z" visa will be ran through a brief criminal background check. If nothing is found, they will be awarded their visa a mere 24 hours later.

The "z" visa allows the illegal immigrant to remain in this country to work and live, travel between their home country and the U.S. freely, and is renewable indefinitely. Thus, if an illegal immigrant chooses not to pay the $5,000 fine to become a U.S. citizen, they don't have too. They can continue to work for below market wages, obtain free medical care in our emergency rooms, and have their children educated in our school systems.

The "z" visa also does not include any provisions for learning English or any other measure that would encourage assimilation.

Call your Senators now! It's not too late to kill this bill!

Senate Amnetsy Agreement Reached

Senator Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid along with Presidential hopeful John McCain are proudly touting an agreement reached to provide amnesty to the approximately 20 million illegal aliens residing in the U.S. If you haven't contacted your Senators and Congressmen yet, now is the time to do so.

The plan includes the following provisions:

1. It provides amnesty for illegal aliens who came to this country prior to January 1, 2007 (How exactly you are to prove when an illegal came here is beyond me.), who have paid taxes, and do not have a criminal record.

2. It creates a new "Z" visa which will be issued to the previouosly mentioned group of illegal aliens that would allow them to stay and work in the U.S.

3. The head of the illegal alien household will be given 8 years to return to their country of origin and pay a fine of $5,000 to achieve U.S. citizenship.

4. Illegal aliens with "Z" visas not wanting citizenship will be able to renew their "Z" visa indifinetely allowing them to stay and work in the U.S.

5. A new guest worker visa will be created that allows a foreign worker to come to the U.S. and work for two years. It can then be renewed up to 3 times.

6. It decreases the length of the border fence called for in previously passed legislation from 750 miles to 370.

7. It calls for the hiring of 18,000 new border patrol agents (who we assume are being hired to replace the agents the federal government has been throwing in jail for protecting the U.S. from drug smugglers and other criminals).

Senator Kennedy stated the President has agreed to sign the bill. Thus, the only thing between amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens and law and order is the Democrat controlled House.

We can only hope the bi-annually elected House members will be more receptive to the will of the people and reject this disgraceful piece of legislation.

Building the Democrat Party One Illegal Alien at a Time

Today we sit on the precipice of disaster. Word is coming down from sources inside Washington that Senate Republicans are close to coming to an agreement with the White House and Senate Democrats on a comprehensive immigration reform bill that will provide amnesty to the nearly 20 million illegal immigrants currently in the U.S.

If this happens not only will our welfare system be strained further as more illegal aliens will stream across the border hoping for another amnetsy but the Democrat party will have a strangle hold on our federally elected offices. Here is what several leading Democrats have to say about it:

Top Democratic leaders and activists see Hispanic migration as a long-term opportunity for the party. The arrival of additional immigrant workers is bad for blue-collars," Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, told National Journal late last year. But immigrants can help elect Democratic majorities, and if [a Democratic Congress] were to significantly strengthen unions, then you would offset the negative effect on the income of workers," he said. (National Journal, 5/12/07)

"Somehow," said a Democrat lawmaker who is trying to build Republican support, "we have to convince them that voting for comprehensive reform does not amount to 'enfranchising their defeat,'" a reference to the likelihood that two of every three new Latino voters would cast Democratic ballots. Our problem," he admitted, is that we are hoping that the legislation will build the Democratic electorate." (National Journal, 2/10/07)

Democratic leaders say Republican backing is critical, both to ensure passage of a bill in the Senate and to protect newly elected moderate and conservative Democrats in the House, some of whom campaigned against legalizing illegal immigrants. (New York Times, 3/23/ 07)

"As the number of legal Hispanics increases, the number of Democratic votes increases as well." (Democratic "insider", National Journal, 4/14/07)

"Taking immigration off the table as a red-meat issue for conservative Republicans would be very helpful in a presidential year . . . ." (Democratic Insider", National Journal, 4/14/07)
It's not too late to stop this. Contact your Senators TODAY and demand they do not permanently give away our representation to a party bent on creating a welfare society dependent on the federal government.

Re: Getting Hosed

Bill O'Reilly recently opinioned this column about the price of gasoline.

Every time you gas up your vehicle and that hose locks into the tank, you, American person, are getting hosed. The energy scam we are presently experiencing is one smooth operation. This time the Arabs aren't raising prices on barrels of oil. This time it's not saber-rattling from Iran that is driving up the price of gas. No, this time the problems are in Whiting, Indiana and Norco, Louisiana.

There are oil refineries in both those towns, and they've had a few annoying problems. A little power outage here, a small fire there. And whenever the speculators hear of any problem in an American refinery, they bid the price of oil up. The oil companies see that and immediately tell your gas station guy to charge more.

There has not been a new oil refinery built in the United States since 1976. Conservatives say the environmental people are blocking construction. There is some truth to that, but the biggest problem in building more refineries is money. Big oil doesn't want to spend billions on a new facility because they are making record profits now, and alternative energies may be coming. The oil barons love the slow-downs in Whiting and Norco, especially when they occur at the start of the summer driving season. Let the profit party begin.

The free marketers hate me for telling you all this. They say it's a "supply and demand" issue. Sure. If you stifle the amount of gasoline refined when everybody wants to drive, yeah, that price is gonna go up. But is that a "free market?"

You, yourself, cannot get into the oil "bidness." It takes all kinds of government approvals every step of the way to market gas and oil. Believe me, "Lenny's One Stop Energy Emporium" is not going to happen. Subway is not going to be ranchising oil refineries anytime soon.

It is beyond frightening that both Democratic and Republican administrations have not insisted more oil refineries be built. We, as a country, are totally dependent on gas and oil, and the economy will collapse if America doesn't have enough of these commodities. But the government has good reason not to impede oil prices: Taxes. The more you pay at the pump, the more money rolls into DC.

But, again, no refineries have been built in 31 years, while demand has increased about 31%, one percent a year.

Appeals for Americans to conserve energy are swell, but they won't work. We are an immediate gratification society. We want what we want, and if it's a Hummer, blank you if you don't like it.

The only way a catastrophe can be headed off is for Congress to get serious with the oil companies and demand they upgrade and expand refining capacity, and play fair on prices. If Congress does not do that, major pain is coming for America.

Besides terrorism, the energy squeeze is the story of our times. Remember, you read it here.

Bill hits this issue right on the head. It's been nearly 6 years since 9/11 and we have been in Iraq for over 4. We've had ample time to measure statistics on the price of a barrel of oil versus the cost of a gallon of gasoline. What we found is that there is little to no correlation between the two.

This report from the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights shows the cost of a barrel of oil on April 21, 2006 was $71.87. At the same time the average cost of a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. was $2.96. Nearly one year later, the cost of a barrel of oil on April 13, 2007 was $62.58, and the average price for a gallon of gasoline was $2.92. In case you missed it, that is a reduction in price of over 13% in the cost of a barrel of oil and only a 1.4% percent reduction in the average cost of a gallon of gasoline.

Bill blames this price differentiation not on speculators and the old supply and demand mantra, but on the fact that oil companies have not built a single new refinery since 1976. This is only half the story, however.

Oil companies sight environmental laws and activism as reasons why they aren't opening new refineries. What they don't want you to know is that not only have they not opened any new refineries in more than 3 decades, but they have closed 18 refineries since 1990. Yes, 18, and according to the EIA, there are only 149 refineries currently operating in the U.S. That's a decline of more than 12% in production capacity for gasoline.

So the next time you go to fill up at the pump, realize this. The price you pay for gasoline is not being driven by world wide demand for oil. It is not being driven by restricted production from OPEC. It is not being driven by speculators on the price of oil. It is not even being driven by an increased demand for gasoline in the U.S. It is, however, being driven by an artifially created supply restriction created by big oil companies.

The New Taxi

Meet the new yellow cab. It features state-of-the-art life saving technology, safety lights and sirens for quick traffic negotiation, and a full concierge staff.

The new yellow cab is a free service provided by your friends in local government. The new yellow cab is the transportation method of choice for illegal immigrants.

Call 9-1-1 today for your free ride!!*

* American citizens will be billed in excess of $250 per trip. American citizens trips are restricted to the nearest hospital only. Additional rules and regulations apply.

Illegal immigrants have long been using our emergency services for free medical care for treatment of such things as headaches and common colds. But now, an ever growing group of brash illegal immigrants are stretching this entitlement to absurd levels.

UB recently had the opportunity to meet with members of the Kansas City Fire Department and EMS to discuss the problem of illegal immigration. We heard the usual assortment of stories that are becoming all to common among emergency services employees about illegal immigrants calling 9-1-1 to receive free rides to the hospital. What we didn't expect to hear was accounts of a fairly new practice that is gaining in popularity among the illegal immigrant population.

Illegal immigrants have learned that they can game our emergency services system by calling 9-1-1 and demanding ambulances take them to hospitals far across town. Along the way the illegal immigrant will abruptly demand to be let out at various intersections near destinations that are anything but related to life saving medicine, such as Home Depots, grocery stores, and just about anywhere else they want a free ride to. Because current law prevents emergency medical staff from inquiring about the status of ones citizenship, EMS are incapable of preventing the exploitation of emergency services for personal gain.

One EMT told us they feared patients in real emergency may suffer needlessly or even die as a result of ambulances being unavailable due to unecessary calls from illegals routing them far outside their territories. Local officials were unavailable when we tried to reach them for comment.

Putting God Second

U.S. religious groups announced today their intentions to break U.S. immigration laws. Roman Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Muslim groups will be opening their churches and synagogues to harbor illegal aliens facing deportation.

"These are all individuals who have had their day in court, and often they appealed, and a judge said 'sorry, you don't qualify.' Under any conceivable immigration scheme there will still be tens of thousands of people who fall into this category unless you have completely open borders," said Steven Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies.

"So many of us in our congregations know these families... coming up against this irrational system that is tearing families apart," said the Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Well, Rev. Selvatierra may know these families, but does he know his own faith?

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
-- Romans 13:1-7

Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the ing, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.
-- Peter 2:13-14

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities.
-- Titus 3:1a

Latinos are the fastest growing segment of organized religions. A fact that is no doubt driving churches to ignore the word of God for the sake of putting asses in the seats and filling church coffers. The greed that drives illegal immigration has poisoned coprorations, small businesses, congress, and now it's getting churches to put God second to the money they can make from illegal immigrants.

Tancredo Driving the Debate

From the Tancredo '08 Presidential Campaign:

If you are watching the news today you have probably seen the mass protests by illegal aliens demanding a path to citizenship. Imagine the gall -- they sneak in here, wave their flag and demand benefits! -- Give us healthcare, give us welfare, school our children -- and now -- make us citizens! It says a lot about our elites that we have all these people parading their illegal status in the street and instead of arresting them they are putting them on television.

The good news is that with your help we are going to put an end to all this. We have already started. Click here to help!

This week Senator Brownback withdrew his support from an amnesty bill he has been pushing – too little too late. And last week, the Times carried a front page exposé in its politics section detailing Mayor Giuliani's flip-flop on illegal immigration. Giuliani, the Times explains, has been trying to steer clear of the issue on the campaign trail, but the voters and Tom Tancredo just won't let him. They keep bringing it up:

At the annual Lincoln Day dinner here last Saturday, Representative Tom Tancredo, [Notice they finally stopped calling me "long shot"] Republican of Colorado, received some of the loudest applause from the 1,000 party loyalists in attendance as he railed against illegal immigrants. "We are destroying the concept of citizenship itself,” Mr. Tancredo said. "America, and indeed Western civilization, are in a crisis.”

I knew Giuliani supported amnesty but even I was shocked at the extent of it. The Times reports that as Mayor, Giuliani, "advocate[ed] for $12 million to start a city agency that would assist those seeking citizenship,” and vigorously defended the city’s sanctuary policy.

Giuliani, Romney, and Brownback are flipping left right and center and the media is finally getting the message. It is all because of your help. And we are not going to quit.

When it comes to immigration Giuliani, McCain, Romney and Brownback are all peas of the same pod. They love to talk about their experience in public service -- they may have the competence to run the country but they certainly don't have the courage to defend it.

It's just you and me, friends. It is our country, together we are going to take it back.

We are very excited, because in a few hours Tom is taking this message to the Republican debate at the Reagan Library. You can watch the debate Thursday night, May 3rd at 8PM Eastern time on MSNBC.So thanks again for your support, and stay tuned, the headlines are rolling in, the march is on.Thanks for all you do.

God bless you.

The National Narrative on Illegal Immigration

Poll after poll shows that the majority of Americans demand border control and are against amnesty. Yet, the national media and our elected leaders continue to tell a different story.

These videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJu9dX--K1w and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEqV5zaVCbY) surfaced of an NBC cameraman filming during the May 1st pro-amnesty protests. They clearly show the media is not the objective observers they claim to be.

After these latest rounds of pro-amnesty protests the national story was about the Los Angeles police cracking the heads of “peaceful” protestors. Ignoring the fact those protesting were by and large criminal illegal aliens and should have been arrested on site, it was those very protestors that turned violent after not understanding when they were repeatedly asked in English by police to disperse. This of course caused the necessary response from the LA police to control the situation.

Last year, the media and other pro-amnesty advocates attempted to change the language of illegal immigration. Illegal aliens became undocumented workers. Immigrants became migrants, as if the illegal aliens plan to return to Mexico at the end of the season. Amnesty became “a path to citizenship”.

For well over a year pro-amnesty supporters have been creating a narrative to support their agenda while ignoring the simple facts of illegal immigration. Whether it’s corporate slavery or white guilt driving these agendas is tough to say. When both extremes come together like they have on this issue, it’s the American poor and middleclass that suffer.

May 1st Protests, Round 2

It's May 1st (a communist holiday) and once again our criminal subculture has taken to the streets to demand of us what we already offer them. That's right, a path to citizenship already exists for those wanting to immigrate into the U.S. But you've heard all these arguments before.

Although turn out is down for proponents of amnesty, the issue has not gone away. Most have learned from last years protests that these types of marches only hurt their positions because the vast majority of American citizens, especially the legal immigrants, have no sympathy for their criminal behavior. They want the border protected and the companies and individuals that aid and abette illegal immigrants to be prosecuted.

A new report shows that illegal imigrants from Mexico sent a record breaking $23 billion dollars back to family members living in Mexico last year. Illegal aliens have become Mexico's 2nd largest source of foreign currency after oil imports. The report also found that 1 in 2 Mexicans living in Mexico have family or friends that reside illegally in the U.S.

If you include the estimated $10 billion negative effect illegals have on the federal government with the $23 billion being diverted from our economy each year, the total annual cost of illegal immigration has surpassed $33 billion. To say something needs to be done immediately to reverse these growing trends would be an understatement.

Another BP Agent Charged with murder

Cross posted courtesy of The Bear Creek Ledger

Sometimes you hate to be right. In February I had written about this altercation between a BP agent and Mexican illegal aliens which resulted in the death of one illegal alien.

Mama don’t raise your child to become an illegal alien

Unfortunately this ignorant Mother encouraged her children to break the law of the U.S. of America. As a result one of her sons is now dead. Six of the seven illegals were taken into custody and her son decided to fight the Border Patrol. Of course I’m sure the case of Ramos and Compean has emboldened those from Mexico to defy and fight the Border Patrol. This ignorant Mother will probably also sue the BP just like the drug smuggler who was stopped by Ramos and Compean.

The Border Patrol, Department of Homeland Security, Justice Department and most of the politicians pushing for amnesty have created this monster we call illegal aliens. These illegals think they have the same rights as US Citizens and the fore mentioned are complicit in promoting this fallacy.

You can go to the link to read some of the ignorant statements made by the Rivera parents.

On April 23rd, BP Agent Nicholas Corbett was charged with 4 counts of homicide. Unfortunately, if a BP Agent thinks their life is in danger (like an illegal alien is picking up a rock to throw at the Agent) I guess they are supposed to wait until after the illegal alien has thrown the rock at them with the rock hitting them in the head before taking action. Of course by this time, it’s too late! I really wonder what constitutes a “threat” to these District Attorneys? Rock throwing is a common weapon of choice for illegal aliens when encountering the Border Patrol.

From Officer.com

“The evidence shows that at the time he was shot, Mr. Dominguez Rivera presented no threat to agent Corbett and agent Corbett did not act in reasonable apprehension of imminent death or serious physical injury,” the statement says.

A judge will schedule an initial appearance for Corbett likely by the end of the week where conditions of release, including whether bond will be set, will be determined, Rheinheimer said. Then, a preliminary hearing will be scheduled within 20 days, where a judge will decide if there is enough evidence for a trial, and if so, on what charges.

From his home in Cuautla, Morelos, the father of Francisco Dominguez Rivera, Renato Dominguez celebrated the news as the start of a formal process against the Border Patrol agent.

While he had earlier complained at the lack of progress in the investigation, Dominguez Rivera’s father said Monday he is pleased at the news the agent has been charged.

Wonder when we find out that maybe Mexican authorities had access to witnesses or what kind of sweetheart deal has been made with the witnesses and family of Rivera’s. With all the recent BP cases the Mexican families and witnesses were given green cards, medical help along with no charges filed for their criminal activity.

Course the National Border Patrol Council has a different view of this:

The decision is a part of a nationwide pattern of politically motivated prosecutions against Border Patrol agents, said Brandon Judd, vice president of Local 2544, the Arizona Chapter of the National Border Patrol Council. The matching testimony from three witnesses has more to do with their blood ties and influence from the Mexican Consulate than what actually happened, Judd says. He also disagrees with Rheinheimer’s assertion that the physical evidence contradicts Corbett’s
statements.

“I’ve looked over the reports and I have a hard time seeing how they could do it unless of course this was politically motivated,” Judd said Monday.
There is a definite pattern which has been established with the prosecution of BP Agents with Ramos & Compean, Brugman, Hernandez and Sipe. Go here for links to many postings on these Border Patrol Agents.

What's the Matter with California?: How Liberals Won the Hearts of Criminals

California, or Kalleeforneea as the Governer might say, has once again thumbed its nose at the rule of law. On Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in Oakland, CA, the self-proclaimed "City of Refuge", city officials made it clear that they do not support government raids on businesses that hire illegal aliens. They vowed to continue to not assist the federal government's efforts to enforce immigration laws.

This most recent attack on law and order comes as San Fransico's mayor Gavin Newsome, who previously made headlines by ignoring CA's marriage laws, simulating a sex act on a reporter's microphone during an interview,, and having an affair with one of his aide's wife, reaffirmed his city's status as a "sanctuary city" for illegal aliens on Monday, April 23. "I will not allow any of my department heads or anyone associated with this city to cooperate in any way shape or form," Newsom declared. "We are a sanctuary city, make no mistake about it."

Meanwhile, Mexican dug cartels continue their campaign to setup local businesses to launder money and fund campaigns for mayoral and city council seats for the purposes of shaping policies and personnel decisions of local law enforcement. One Los Angeles subrub has become so corrupt that they fired their entire police force.

Richard Valdemar, a retired sergeant with the L.A. County sheriff's, says, "In the typical scenario, a wealthy Mexican immigrant opens a business in a small town. It could be a very nice Mexican restaurant. He's well-dressed, speaks English, seemingly a real gentleman. He gets involved in the community. His business welcomes police officers with discounts. He makes friends with city officials and other businessmen. No one has any idea where his money comes from – the Mexican drug cartels."[1]

Valdemar has sited corruption by Mexican cartels in seven LA county cities: Southgate, Lynwood, Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Hawaiian Gardens and Huntington Park. He says that once these local businesses are setup and the necessary political connections made, the business owner throws there support behind several political candidates for the purpose of controlling the majority of political offices for his hand picked operatives, a technique these drug cartels perfected in Mexico. Federal and state law enforcement agency have had little success prosecuting corruption in the affected cities because of the wealth and poltical ties of those involved.

As Teddy Roosevelt once said, "by [these policies] we have failed to impress upon the immigrant and upon the native-born as well that they are expected to do justice as well as to receive justice, that they are expected to be heartily and actively and single-mindedly loyal to the flag no less than to benefit by living under it."

If It Bleeds, It Leads

"If it bleeds, it leads," words we have all become familiar with as mainstream media has continued its decline into sensationalism. But, have they finally gone too far? NBC reportedly agonized over releasing portions of Cho Seung-Hui's video and photo manifesto, sent to them just before his rampage at Virginia Tech that ended with the deaths of 32 people began. NBC justified release of the material claiming that viewers sought to understand why someone would do that and that they had a journalistic responsibility to report that aspect of the story. But did they really?

I think to understand why these types of violent rampages are becoming more prevalent in our society the media only needs to look in the mirror. They bring on expert after expert to blame everything from rap music to video games. Yet, they never acknowledge that they single handedly immortalized the Columbine shooters or Timothy McVeigh, both of which tragedies' anniversaries occurred this month.

Evil exists in this world and the capability of evil exists in all of us. Denying that only exacerbates the problem. One only has to look at the German citizenry in the 30's and 40's as they blindly followed Hitler into genocide or at the individuals responsible for terrorism or these school shootings to understand that.

There is a fine line between the sane act and the insane, but it is not the media's job to determine what causes someone to cross that line. It is up to trained investigators and criminal psychologists, not Katie Couric or Anderson Cooper. We don't need the nightly news glorifying the acts of madmen and giving them the credit and publicity that drives their aggression. We only need the experts to quietly study them and then formulate new ways to identify signs that we can look out for that may help us prevent future heinous acts.

Would Cho have gone on this rampage had the mainstream media not immortalized the Columbine shooters? I think it is clear he would not just from the bits of information being released about the NBC video clips. Even more concerning is the rash of copycat threats being made in schools all over the country these past couple days, proof that the publicity Cho is receiving in the media is driving more troubled kids towards the breaking point.

The media defend the growing sensationalistic reporting by pointing to the growing ratings it draws. Just like public executions used to draw huge crowds of gawkers and rubberneckers bring traffic to a crawl in the hopes of seeing carnage in even the smallest of accidents, the publics’ curiosity with death will never go away. It is up to the media to limit their reporting in ethical ways and always with an eye on the negative effects their actions can have.

The media is not likely to return to the ethical reporting of the past willingly. They have tasted the influence they can have on society and aren't going to voluntarily give up that power. Unfortunately, the next time someone snaps they are now more likely to one-up Cho's act and all the mainstream media will leave us with is more questions about why?

Facts About Illegal Immigrants?

The following “Facts about Illegal Immigrats” appeared in the April 19, 2007 issue of The Modesto Bee newspaper.

“1. They fill important gaps in the labor market: 96 percent are employed, a higher rate than U.S. citizens. They do jobs older and more educated Americans won't.”

The mere idea that there are jobs Americans won’t do is just plain false. The U.S. labor market is based on the principles of free market and supply and demand. When the supply of unskilled labor is lowered because more Americans are becoming educated and moving to higher paying jobs there is supposed to be a natural upward pressure put on employers that encourages them to increase wages in order to attract more “educated” laborers to fill unskilled jobs or to find new means of mechanization in order to eliminate their need.

When there is a free flow of unskilled labor being introduced into the American market from an outside source, such as Mexico, this upward wage pressure is removed. As a result, wages for the unskilled have declined over 8% (according to a recent Harvard University study). This makes it even more difficult for the American poor to find ways to make ends meet.

“2. They are not eligible for welfare or food stamps; only emergency treatment through Medi-Cal.”

This again is false. A 2002 study by the Center for Immigration Studies found that households headed by illegal immigrants cost the federal government more than $1.9 billion in food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches. In addition, the study found that illegal alien households created a net fiscal deficit of $10 billion annually for just the federal government.

“3. More than two-thirds have U.S. citizen children. “

This may be an accurate statement, though I have been unable to find any data to confirm it. If anything, this points to more of a problem with our current immigration laws than it does to a reason to maintain the current status quo on immigration.

The immigration law that guarantees citizenship to those born on U.S. soil was not intended as a means to enable immigration into this country. As an ever growing number of American military personal began serving on U.S. bases throughout the world, this law was enacted so that any child of an American citizen born on a military basis outside of this country would still be granted the same citizenship rights as those born inside it.

“4. Pay property taxes by owning homes or paying rent. Immigrants, no matter their status, on average pay $80,000 more in taxes than they use in government services over a lifetime. “

Again, statistical data does not support these claims. In addition to the CIS study that shows that illegal immigrants cost the U.S. government $10 billion more than they contribute, a report by the Heritage Foundation found that low-skilled families cost the government (federal, state, and local) $32,138 each in 2004. In that same year, those same low-skilled families only paid in an average of $9.689.

“5. According to the Social Security Administration, about three-fourths of the undocumented immigrants pay into the system. It holds $420 billion from earnings that will never be claimed. Baby boomers are retiring in droves and unless Americans start having eight-plus kids, we will need immigrants to support the system.”

Again, this statement is drawn from falls facts and assumptions. The IRS reports that 7.9 million W2’s were filed last year with Social Security Numbers that did not match the name. However, they also reported that 1.5 million illegal immigrants filed for new ITINs (individual income identification numbers) last year alone. These ITINs can be used to file an end of year tax return in order to take advantage of various tax credits and refunds. If an illegal is willing to falsify W4 information in order to obtain employment, it’s not a stretch to assume they would also falsify their dependent claims in order to minimize the impact of FICA and Medicare on their pay checks.

“6. Within 10 years, 75 percent of immigrants speak English well. Demand for English classes far exceeds supply; 100 percent of children of immigrants eventually learn English, like myself. They want to learn English so they can vote and defend themselves against xenophobic people and their biased beliefs.”

These numbers appear to be simply made up. All the statistics show a dramatic increase in public school dropout rates where illegal immigrant populations are growing. There is also a massive movement by proponents of illegal immigration to provide bilingual educations and print more and more government documents in both English and Spanish.

In February 2006 the California Legislature released a report about Hispanic students. The report found that Hispanics of Mexican decent accounted for a greater percentage of high school dropouts and teen pregnancy. With more American businesses, the federal government, and public schools moving more and more towards catering to non-English speaking Mexican immigrants, there is less and less of an incentive for them and their children to learn English.

So while I am sure George Medina believes the supposed “facts on illegal immigration” he printed in his paper, the real facts, say otherwise.

Do Illegal Immigrants Pay Taxes?

According to the IRS, approximately 7.9 million W2’s were received last year where the name did not match the social security number. Many pro-amnesty advocates site this number as proof that illegal immigrants pay federal income tax. What they neglect to tell you is that illegal immigrants filing false W4’s are likely to also lie about the number of dependents they can claim in order to lower the amount of taxes deducted from their pay checks and the IRS’s ITIN (Individual Income Tax Number) which allows them to get back the rest by filling a tax return.

Created in 1996, the ITIN allows foreign citizens that do not have a social security number to file end of year tax returns. The IRS issued 1.5 million new ITINs in 2006, a 30% increase over the previous year. To receive a card, all one needs to do is send the IRS a copy of valid identification, such as the Matricula Consular card.

Once an illegal has obtained their ITIN they can use it for a whole host of benefits, the least of which is getting a tax return. For instance, Bank of America accepts them as valid ID when applying for mortgage loans and credit cards. Citibank does the same for credit cards.
Illegal immigrants who do use their ITIN to file a 1040 with the IRS may not be able to get the earned income tax credit, but they will still find a whole host of other benefits such as other tax credits and the ability to claim dependents living in Mexico.

Mortgage Defaults in California Near Decade High

A report released today suggests mortgage loan defaults have reached a ten year high in California.

The first quarter's default level was the highest for the most populous U.S. state since the second quarter of 1997. It came amid a sharp rise in defaults on mortgages held by subprime borrowers, or borrowers with blemished credit, across the United States.

There are likely several factors accounting for the rise in mortgage defaults, such as a stagnent growth in the housing sector and the rising popularity of adjustable rate mortgages. But with the majority of defaults coming from mortgages originated within the last 15 months, the new trend of supplying mortgages to illegal immigrants may be the prime factor.

Just recently major banks, like Bank of America, received a lot of criticism for supplying mortgage loans and credit cards to illegal immigrants.

Voters Want Immigration Laws Enforced

A new poll released by Judicial Watch and conducted by Zogby International seems to indicate that the vast majority of voters on both sides of the isle want our current immigration laws enforced and are opposed to policies that they believe reward illegal alien law breakers.

* Overall, 66% of likely voters believe that more emphasis should be placed on law enforcement when addressing the issue of illegal immigration, including 51.6% of Hispanics and 56.8% of self-described political “liberals.” Only 5% said the emphasis on law enforcement should be diminished, including 3% of Hispanics.

* 79% believe public officials should not use taxpayer funds to operate day laborer sites that help illegal aliens, including 71.9% of Hispanics and 70% of self-described political “liberals.”

* 72% of likely voters believe local law enforcement officers should help enforce federal immigration laws, including 40% of Hispanics and 55% of self-described political “liberals.”

"The American people speak with one voice on the topic of illegal immigration. Virtually every voter demographic – even those supposedly most sympathetic to illegal aliens – want our illegal immigration laws to be strictly enforced,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “Overwhelmingly, the American people want local officials to help address illegal immigration through law enforcement, not taxpayer subsidies and ‘sanctuary’ policies."

Despite the overwhelming evidence that illegal immigration costs tax payers far more than estimated and the growing number of polls that continue to show the vast majority of Americans supporting a crack down on illegal immigration our political representatives refuse to consider any alternatives to "comprehensive immigration reform" that do not contain some form of amensty. Of the 4 leading candidates for President in 2008, none offer a strong alternative to the current status quo.

The Death of the American Melting Pot

On October 12, 1915 President Theodore Roosevelt spoke these words, “There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism… We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance. But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as anyone else.

The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English- Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian- Americans, or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality than with the other citizens of the American Republic. The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country.

The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land, to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American.”

Although these words were spoken nearly one hundred years ago, they are more relevant now than they ever have been. The idea of America as a melting pot where all immigrant cultures are amalgamated into one has been replaced by multiculturalism.

Multiculturalism is an ideology that by its very nature seeks to separate people. Proponents of multiculturalism are quick to point out its claims of diversity, but they rarely address the negative affects some of these “diverse” cultural differences can have on society.

Language, possibly the key component of multiculturalism, is one of the primary ways in which the ideology divides people. By encouraging governments and businesses to cater to the native tongues of immigrants it makes it easy for them to find reasons not to learn English. In the past, subsequent generations would learn the English language through the public school system insuring the melting pot would continue taking the best aspects of all of the cultures that make it up. However, we now find the proponents of multiculturalism supporting bilingual education in the public schools. So while other nations of the world have moved to requiring English language courses in schools so that their citizens are better equipped to compete in a growing global economy, the United States is moving in the reverse direction.

Language divisions and multiculturalism have led to major conflicts in other nations. In the mid 1990’s Quebec citizens nearly approved a measure that would have allowed the province to succeed from Canada. In 2004, Theo Van Gogh was shot and killed by a young Moroccan immigrant because of a short film he made questioning the role of women in Muslim society. On November, 2005, immigrant youths in France rioted for days burning cars, buses, government buildings, and schools over what they called job and social discrimination.

So while the word multiculturalism may give westerners a warm fuzzy, it does more to harm immigrants than it does to help them. It keeps them separated from the society as a whole and breeds an atmosphere rife with conflict and misunderstanding. So the next time someone asks you what you are, no matter what your ancestral background, I hope you will answer with the simple truth, you are an American, because that is such a blessed thing to be able to say!

Meet Carlos Slim Helu

Carlos Slim Helu is likely not a name you recognize, but perhaps you should. He recently surpassed Warren Buffet on the Forbes' list of richest men in the world with a networth valued at more than $53.1 billion, second only to Bill Gates.

Helu heads Mexico's largest telecommunications company, considered by many to be a monopoly.

Helu's wealth has ballooned in the last 14 months by more than $23 billion dollars leading one to question just how poor is Mexico?

Mexico's economy is considered to be strong by many financial analysts and their stock market has increased in value by nearly 50% over the last year. According to the CIA World Fact Book Mexico ranks as the world's 13th richest nation, just ahead of Spain. A study by the Pew Hispanic Center also found that illegal immigrants aren't being drawn to the U.S. because of unemployment as most already held similar jobs in Mexico.

Helu has criticized both Buffet and Gates for donating billions or dollars to charity. It is his belief that poverty isn't solved by "going around like Santa Claus."

Citizens Pressure Law Enforcement to Do Its Job

A group of concerned Los Angeles citizens have brought suit against the LA police department on behalf of unnamed law enforcement officers. The purpose of the suit is to get local law enforcement officers to inform federal immigration officials when an illegal alien is arrested on drug charges. Currently, it is violation of LA Police Department policy for officers to inquire about the citizenship status of those arrested despite California's Health and Safety Code which requires them to do so in drug cases.

This is the second such case brought in California in the past few weeks. The prior lawsuit being filed against the San Jose Police Department.
